MOUNT CARMEL — Peter P. Pekera, 57, of 348 E. Sixth St., was called home by the Lord Monday, Sept. 20, 2021.

He was born March 19, 1964, a son of Robert and Anna Pekera.

Pete was a 1982 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School.

He was employed by Roadway where he operated heavy equipment.

Pete was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

He was a lifetime member of Marion Heights Fire Co. and the Clover Hose Fire Co.

He loved coaching baseball and football and vacationing at the beach. He

enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always the life of the party with a quick jokes and his great sense of humor.

Pete was a loving son, brother and uncle. He leaves behind a brokenhearted family and will be greatly missed.

Pete joins his dad, Robert, in heaven, and is survived by his mom and best friend, Anna. He also leaves behind two sisters, Deborah Palmer and her husband, Thomas, of Northumberland, and Lisa Horvath and her husband, Jeff, of Kulpmont; two nieces, Shelby and Megan; two nephews, Jaryd and Hunter; a son, Matthew Hager and his wife, Haley; a grandson, Miles Hager; and several cousins.

Pete will be remembered by his family and close friends for his kindness and generosity.

PEKERA — Peter P. Pekera, 57, of 348 E. Sixth St., Mount Carmel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with Father Francis Karwacki as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Viewing will be held prior to the Mass from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor.
