ELYSBURG — Just after midnight, Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, surrounded by family, Velvet Vincenzes, of Elysburg, went peacefully to be with the Lord after a two-year battle with lung cancer, which she faced with grace, faith and a good dose of humor.
An active, long-time member of Bethany Bible Fellowship Church, avid reader and public library patron and former cook at Ponduce Market, Velvet spent the majority of her life’s energy being a dedicated mother, loyal and trusted friend, and two-time spouse to Paul Vincenzes.
In mid-life, Vel, as she preferred to be called, discovered a love of travel and visited many cities and sites around the U.S., as well as China, central Europe, and even the Galapagos Islands.
Velvet is survived by her brother, Sheldon Gusky, of Lewisburg; her husband, Paul Vincenzes, of Elysburg; her daughter, Carmen DiCinque, of Woodside, Calilfornia; her son-in-law, Stuart Schonberger; granddaughters, Talia and Anica; her son, Scot Vincenzes and daughter-in-law, Charlotte, of Bloomsburg; her daughter, Tanya Young, of Annville; her son-in-law, Michael Young; and grandsons, Mason and Devan Sosnoski.
