SHAMOKIN — William L. “Bill” Dilliplane, 80, of Shamokin, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.

Bill was born in Shamokin, July 16, 1941, a son of the late Sarah (Crone) and Roy A. Dilliplane. He lived most of his life locally.

He was a 1959 graduate of Shamokin High School, where he loved playing baseball.

Bill was married to the love of his life, Beverly (Lewis) Dilliplane, Oct. 21, 1961.

He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Bill was multitalented, excelling with mechanical work and as a heavy equipment operator. He loved to hunt and fish. His family is sure he never missed an opening day of buck season. He also was never late for a home-cooked meal or an episode of “Jeopardy!”

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; a daughter, Diane Schleig; four sons, William Dilliplane Jr. and his wife, Angie, Jeffery Dilliplane and his wife, Zenobea, Roy Dilliplane and his wife, Stacey, and James Dilliplane and his wife, Koryne. Bill was very fortunate to also have many grandchildren and a great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Schell, of Coal Township; and a sister, Sara Dilliplane, of Shamokin.
