This week, the City of Shamokin announced it would be holding its workshop meeting closed to the public in lieu of a rising number of COVID-19 cases across the state.

On Friday, the city contacted The News-Item to place a legal notice stating it would be moving the location of its upcoming city council meeting from Mill Square to City Hall and also locking the doors to the public.
