To the editor: Denial — a frank and straightforward description of what we see and hear in Washington, D.C., and what is wrong with the Trump presidency,

Yes, denial is rampant — and all this wrongness has been exhibited and exposed during the past three and one half years: lying, meanness, greed, corruption, relinquishing our American traditions and values. Many of Trump’s most zealous supporters and enablers, heeding their conscience, also feel uneasy with the reality of what is happening in Washington, D.C. Perhaps even Trump feels betrayed by his own impulses and wishes he were elsewhere doing other things. Nonetheless, all the wrongness continues to thrive under the imprudent and irresponsible pretext that it is acceptable.
