Citizens for a Better Community, a not for profit organization comprised of concerned and dedicated citizens who support to improve and enhance the quality of life and pride in our community, would like to take this opportunity to thank the following individuals and businesses for making our 2019 Fireworks Display and Curbside Collection, once again, a huge success: Ed Helfrick Jr. for allowing us to continue this tradition and having the display on the Glen Burn, our co-sponsor, Citizens Fireworks, who donate all local fireworks sales at The News-Item stand towards the display, Glenn and Brian Knarr and staff for volunteering their time to do the beautiful fireworks display (setup, launch and tear down), Dave Porzi, Joe Redd and Barry Yarworth and AOAA, Officers Darwin Tobias, Matt Dunn, Josh Wynn and Mike Menapace, Joe Weikel, Garrett Weikel, Shawn Snyder, David Nowroski, McKenzie Knarr, Cory Thompson, Chris Peifer, Mike Shevitski, New Ground Excavating LLC, Daniel Worhach, Jim Moore, Brandon Campbell, Tyler Snyder, Anthony Peipher, Patrick Shinskie, Ed Waters, Jeremy Erb, Jackson Hancock, Jeff Taylor, Dominic and Kristen Weikel, William Wood, Dan McCloskey, Brandon Schultz, Tara Johnson, Tyler Yeager, Larry Glazik, Mike Duganitz, The News-Item, Fire Art LLC of Clearfield, Burger King, Durdach Bros. Inc., Tammy Rhodes and the Shamokin Area High School cheerleaders, Tammy Nazih and the Shamokin Area cross country team, Jeff Monahan and Advanced Security Agency LLC, Millers Gas and Oil, The Plumbing Outlet, Mayor and Mrs. John Brown and Councilman Dan McGaw, Robert Slaby Sr., Woody’s Pizzeria, Shamokin and Coal Township police departments, Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Shamokin City Council, Coal Township commissioners/manager, Shamokin, Coal Township, Trevorton, Stonington and Elysburg firefighters and EMS, many citizens who donated their time to stand during the collection, numerous Shamokin and Coal Township businesses for allowing us to place collection cans, but most of all we sincerely thank you, the residents, family and friends of our community and surrounding communities, for your generous donations and support for this worthwhile event. So many people working together makes this possible every year. Without everyone’s help we could not do this. Your donations have resulted in a total amount of $10,896.24 being collected. We are determined to keep this yearly Fourth of July fireworks tradition alive, for years to come and each year to become bigger and better. Mark your calendar books, tell your friends, family and neighbors, the 2020 Shamokin Fireworks Display will be held Saturday, July 4, 2020.
