To the editor: With the recent rollout of the Act 47 Exit Plan for the City of Shamokin to the public, one thing is for certain. The strategy does not fit realistic possibilities for the future of the City of Shamokin.

Cutting man power on the police force cannot be the answer, and I want to thank Mayor Brown and a majority of the council for stating publicly that they would vote against any cuts in that department. Your promise to our citizens on this topic shows that you truly understand the public safety risks that would tremendously pose to our citizens as a whole.
