To the editor: Voters should recall the words of President John F. Kennedy: “I am not the Catholic candidate for president. I am the Democratic Party’s candidate for president who happens to be Catholic. ... I do not speak for my church on public matters and the church does not speak for me.”
The pro-choice versus pro-life agenda points are not the only items or elements voters must consider when going to the polls. They need to evaluate the party’s complete agenda and what will benefit the entire country regarding criminal justice and race issues, taxes, health care, education, immigration, economy, our climate and environment, foreign policy, response to the corona virus pandemic, etc.
