To the editor: We have been following the Kulpmont borough council’s efforts to make improvements at Veterans Memorial Field. We were present at the last council meeting when the borough approved spending $1,000 on the concession stand that serves Mount Carmel High School’s baseball games. We also read the president of council’s letter to the editor soliciting donations for these improvements. This is exciting news.

In being part of previous volunteer projects in the borough, we’ve learned that donations go so much further if you don’t have to spend them on labor or hire a contractor. We both have knowledge in construction and have physically built previous projects. We have successfully organized volunteers. We feel that we can help with these proposed improvements.

With this letter, we are offering to volunteer our time and talents, along with our power tools to perform your proposed improvements. This will take the burden of hiring laborers off the borough.

Let us know when you want to start construction.
