‘Real world’

I am bewildered by Sound Off callers replying to the appeal process pertaining to a Coal Township rehabilitation. Of course, any building of any age can be brought up to current NFPA requirements — the proper devices in the proper location and you pass. But other aspects not directly fire related come into play. Egress windows, proper stairway width, kitchen and bath requirements, plus electrical and HVAC issues. The owner had to know all the potential issues present and forthcoming. If not, this is no valid reason to jeopardize the lives and safety of potential patrons of this proposed establishment. Yes, I leave the county and visit the “real world” as well.
