Letter of truth
So many truths in Joseph Fischer’s recent letter to the editor. We never before had a president like Trump who refused to concede he lost, and most of us did not want him as president in either election. Thank you, sir, for reminding us that we must continue to work for freedom, equality and justice.
Stinky business
Many thanks to the Mount Carmel Street Department worker who had the unpleasant duty of removing the dead skunk from Market Street Thursday morning. I appreciate it very much.
Wacky pack
Has anybody listened to some of the comments coming out of the meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from the likes of Al Gore, John Kerry or the U.N. secretary general? These wealthy, elitist asses are the most ignorant wack jobs I have ever listened to.
USA for sale
Do you know how much land the Chinese Communist Party is buying here in the United States? Both land and infrastructure. If you don’t know, look it up, do your own homework, you’ll find it interesting. My question is this: Why is the federal government allowing a foreign country, who is also a mortal enemy of ours, to purchase land — bits of our sovereign nation. The way this administration works is mind boggling.
Paint eater
Don’t argue with people on social media. Every classroom had a kid that ate paint. That’s probably who you’re arguing with.
Magisterial justice
Six persons stood in front of the magistrate for charges. He dropped charges on everyone of them. What’s the use of having a policeman if the magistrate drops the charges? We need a magistrate that is going to follow the law. No plea dealing.
Slaughterhouse
In 2021, there were 49,000 Americans murdered by guns. The 2022 statistics are not available, but are expected to increase by 15%. This does not include the number of citizens who have survived this slaughter, but are missing organs and have irreparable bodily injuries. I have no idea how the Castle Doctrine affected these statistics. We are the only civilized nation where so many citizens kill each other, but I am sure these statistics make the old, Wild West look like paradise.
GOP liars
Every aspect of what Republican Rep. George Santos said about his personal and professional life is a lie. Santos even stole $3,000 that was suppose to go to a veteran for a service dog. If Santos worked for a corporation he would be terminated, but not in the Republican Congress. Speaker Kevin NcCarthy even appointed Santos to two House committee positions. Trump has demonstrated that lying does not matter for most Republicans. Many Republicans continue to lie about the 2020 election. I am sure your average Republican voter is proud of what that party has become — liars, con-men and conspiracy-believing insurrectionists.
