Tip for jobseekers
To the lady in the Elysburg coffeeshop who was asking about a job on Wednesday, here’s a tip. Networking is a great way to find a job. You let people know what you’re looking for, and they may be able to give you a contact or an idea. Be open to someone who is interested in helping you. Try to avoid aggressive responses such as “Why do you want to know?!? I don’t know you and you don’t know me.” Good luck.
The president of the United States just made an extremely racist statement about four progressive Congresswomen who have been critical of the conditions in Trump’s detention centers on the Mexican border. Trump tweets insinuated that the Congresswomen were not born in America stating that they should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came from.” If a CEO of a major company or sports announcer would act like Commander Crazy, they would be immediately fired. Unfortunately, we can’t immediately fire Trump but we can defeat him in 2020.
Bad immigration policy
Lazy people don’t immigrate — they stay home. Our local ancestors are proof that immigrants are motivated, determined and desperate to be successful. They came here to follow the American dream, not to fail. Many supporters of Trump’s immigration policy and programs are biased and bigoted, prejudicial and narrow-minded individuals who fail to realize they are only three or four generations from coming off the boat, being refugees, illiterate, hungry and shoe-less.
Reunions are good
Celebrating a 50th anniversary from high school graduation is wonderful. In the ’60s and ’70s there were Catholic high schools in both Shamokin and Mount Carmel. All the kids were friends with each other. The kids from Mount Carmel would even “hang out” at Al’s in Shamokin and everyone from the area danced at “The Mine” in Mount Carmel. You should be happy you are still alive to see both classmates and friends from 50 years ago! If you don’t agree, stay home in your rocking chair and take your pills.
What is wrong with telling someone “If you don’t like it here, go back to where you come from”? Where does racism fit in with that statement? The only people crying about it are the radical Democrats who are trying to destroy this country with their political correctness and hate for the president, no matter what he says or does. There is no reasoning with people who haven’t got common sense or aren’t able to be reasoned with in the first place.
This is in response to “Co-op Reunion.“ Please contact me so we can confidentially discuss your concerns. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you, Ken Gaydon.
Weekend at Epstein’s
Trump’s racist comments about four Congresswomen of color achieved its goal. It moved public attention away from the crimes of Trump’s long-time pedophile pal Jeffery Epstein. Trump and Epstein partied together during the height of Epstein’s years of sex trafficking underage girls. In an interview, Trump said that Epstein was a terrific guy and “a lot of fun to be with.” Trump is worried that the public will start asking what kind of “fun” did Trump have with his buddy Jeffery Epstein. Joe’s take: From what I’ve been reading, so did Bill Clinton, and I’m sure, many others.
Pelosi, the head of the Democrat Congress, that saying that Trump is trying to keep America white. Well, on the other hand, Pelosi is trying to make it Spanish, Muslim and black.
