Gotta love how Mrs. Faraguna memorializes a past president but can’t pass up an opportunity to vilify the current one. As she closes, she cites a “lack” (or failure) to “cooperate” for the good of the country and “to lead with humility.” I ask, exactly who does she want him to cooperate with? Her? And who is the author of all things good? I dare say in the face of her progressive arrogance that God knows what’s good for this country. Perhaps she needs a little humility herself.
A Texas judge ruling could overturn the Affordable Care Act — Obama Care, leaving 17 million Americans without health care. What does Trump say? “Great news!” These American citizens will suffer without health care. The French Queen Marie-Antoinette said, “Let them eat cake,” when her subjects were suffering because they had no bread to eat. These responses are indicative of how insensitive and clueless the French rulers and this Republican administration is regarding the health and welfare of their people.
I’d like to know why do we need these marijuana dispensaries? Can’t they just sell it at the pharmacies like every other drug? Or is it because it’s federally illegal and real pharmacies can’t get involved with it? Until it is sanctioned by the federal government no state should get involved with it. We’re just thumbing our noses at national laws.
Stain of mind
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham stated that Trump’s Syria withdrawal is a “stain on the honor of the United States.” That statement is not quite accurate. The entire Trump presidency is a stain on the honor of the United States.
In like Flynn
Donald Trump and Fox News repeatedly defended Gen. Michael Flynn, stating that Flynn was trapped by the FBI and that Gen. Flynn did not know it was illegal to lie to the FBI. Last Tuesday, Flynn publicly testified in court that he knew that lying to the FBI was illegal, he was not trapped and clearly stated he was guilty as charged. Yet another one of Lyin’ Donald’s ridiculous conspiracy theories bites the dust.
The swamp is draining in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, the scum, slime, dirt and disease is running through the White House. Hopefully, there are enough individuals in Congress who will maintain their dignity, self-respect and pride in their positions to overcome the stench this administration has created.
I hope everybody got down to see the Tharptown playground done by the Dunns, especially Jared. It is beautiful. It is so nice to live down here in this community and they brighten up the place for the holidays. Also, go up to the Coney Island and see their big Christmas tree. I do that every year. It just brightens my holidays. Take advantage of all the beauty around for Christmas.
Cast the first stone
In regard to Tim Mannello’s letter to the editor, I would like to say that there are few things missing that should be considered. Yes, Christ did say to the people that were going to stone the woman “let those who are without sin cast the first stone” and everybody walked away. But then he did say to the woman, “Go and sin no more.” In regards to the teacher who was fired at Lourdes, she had a different attitude. Besides knowing she broke the rules, she adamantly refused to get married after she was questioned. She did not agree to go and sin no more. So, that is what happens when you don’t obey the rules. Frog’s take: You know, I think Charlie Shuey hit the nail on the head with his recent letter to the editor. Wouldn’t you agree, caller?
