Office holding

Here’s a serious question. If you are a convicted felon, can you hold an elected office? I don’t know the answer to this, but if the law states anyone convicted of a felony cannot hold office, I don’t understand why there is even a debate here. On the other hand, if there isn’t a law on the books, then by all means the gentleman should be sworn in with no issues. The outcome should be determined by what the law on the books states, and if the law goes against the gentleman’s wishes and he still tries to hold office, then he is a lawbreaker again and will have zero credibility.

Joe Leschinskie PA state definition of infamous crimes from my attorney

"Infamous crime." Any violation and conviction for an offense which would disqualify an individual from holding public office pursuant to section 6 of Article II of the Constitution of Pennsylvania; any conviction for a violation of this section; any conviction for a violation of 18 Pa.C.S. § 4113 (relating to misapplication of entrusted property and property of government or financial institutions) or 18 Pa.C.S. Ch. 47 (relating to bribery and corrupt influence), 49 (relating to falsification and intimidation), 51 (relating to obstructing governmental operations) or 53 (relating to abuse of office); any other violation of the laws of this Commonwealth for which an individual has been convicted within the preceding ten years and which is classified as a felony; or a similar violation of the law of any other state or the Federal

From my understanding Joe’s felony is over ten years old and can not disqualify him. That would violate his rights under the PA constitution. The people cry about Joe being our elected official, in my opinion are crying because they don’t want change in shamokin.
