I want to thank Gov. Wolf for lifting all of these restrictions. It’s funny though, all of a sudden on Memorial Day we can just switch back. Our numbers are doubled from what they were last year at this time. I don’t understand it. Were we lying to the people then or now? Editor: Pennsylvania averaged about 4,000 to 6,000 tests administered per day in April 2020. During the surge around Christmas, that number was in excess of 20,000. Limited testing capacity has a lot to do with the muted numbers we saw at the onset of the pandemic compared to now. There’s no way to prove it, but it’s likely the numbers back in March and April 2020 were much higher than what were reported due to scarcity of testing.
