Lucas Wolfe scored the 2019 Northeast Season opener last weekend, leading all 25 laps of the 410 sprint car feature at Lincoln Speedway, repeating his 2018 opening day victory at the Abbottstown oval.

This weekend, the three Central Pa. 410 sprint car tracks; Port Royal Speedway, Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway, will host the winged warriors.

Gates swing open at noon tomorrow at Lincoln for its second event of the 2019 campaign, featuring the 410 sprint cars and PA Legends Series cars, as the green flag drops at 2 p.m.

Port Royal Speedway hosts a doubleheader show for the Juniata County oval opener, with a $4,000 paycheck awaiting the winner of the 410 sprint car feature and $2,200 check for the late models. Gates open at 1 p.m. tomorrow and racing action will start at 4 p.m.

The iconic Williams Grove Speedway looks to open its season with a Sunday afternoon show at 2 p.m. Gates open at noon for the 410 sprint car show, with fans receiving free Hoosier Racing gear (while supplies last). Central Pa. and some anticipated invaders will battle in the 25-lap feature paying $4,080 to the winner.

“The Flying Farmer”, Tommy Hinnershitz of Oley, Pa. scored the first-ever race win in May of 1939, and over the years many of the best drivers in the world have competed and won at the at the Mechanicsburg half-mile oval.

“The Grove” will return to its regular Friday night slot, next Friday with the 410 sprint cars and ULMS Late Models at 7:30.

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series returns to action this weekend for its third race of the 2019 season, at Gainesville Raceway for the 50th Annual Amalie Oil Gatornationals.

Point leaders, Billy Torrence (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car) and Bo Butner (Pro Stock) lead their respective classes heading into the Florida event, while the Pro Stock Bikes will be competing in its first race of the year, this weekend.

Fox Sports1 will provide one hour of qualifying action tonight at 11:30; one hour tomorrow night at 9 p.m. and three hours of eliminations coverage beginning at 7:30 Sunday evening. Richie Crampton (T/F), Jack Beckman (F/C), Butner (P/S) and Eddie Krawiec (P/S Bike) were victorious in 2018.

Baps Motor Speedway will host an open practice tomorrow afternoon from 2-6 p.m., with their season opener slated for next Saturday, March 23...Grandview Speedway looks to its second annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Classic on April 6 for the 2019 season opener. The Rogers Classic will pay $7,500 to the winner of the 50-lap main event, small block/big block Modified feature event. The sportsman will be the second half of the two division program….Woodhull Raceway kicks off its 55th season of continuous racing action with its Swarthout Recycling Race Car Show at the Arnot Mall in Big Flats, NY, tomorrow and Sunday. The racing season kicks off with two practice sessions, April 6 and 13, and the season opener will be April 20. The Crate late models, sportsman, street stocks, hobby stocks, mini stocks, front wheel drives and warriors will fill the program, while the track’s headline division modifieds join the schedule the following Saturday, April 27...the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America inducted its 2019 class on Tuesday night in Daytona Beach. Don Schumacher, Tony Stewart, Linda Vaughn, Dario Franchitti, Kevin Schwantz, Augie Dusenberg and Phil Remington were honored during the gala affair.
