College Football: Bloomsburg falls to Stonehill

Bloomsburg University’s tailback Alex Gooden (22) runs for a large gain during a football game last season.

BLOOMSBURG — Tension and frustration hung over Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium like a cloud so thick it could have been cut with a knife.

Bloomsburg University opened its season before a supportive and vocal group of fans and the Huskies showed promise by piecing together a tying touchdown drive with 45 seconds left in the first quarter. Then things turned ugly oh so quickly when Stonehill took over the game by scoring 26 unanswered points in what ended as a 33-14 non-conference loss for the Huskies (0-1).
