Included in Southern Columbia’s once-in-a-generation football class of graduates last year were inside linebackers Cal Haladay and Max Tillett, who finished their careers as the top two tacklers in Tiger history.

Replacing all but two starters on defense, including all four linebackers, was something that defensive coordinator Andy Mills was faced with. Senior Wade Kerstetter, who started at tight end as a junior, and freshman Garrett Garcia were chosen as the two guys that would anchor the defense as the two inside linebackers. The duo were chosen as PHAC first team all-stars at the position.
