The Ed Romance Chapter or Pennsylvania Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in cooperation with the Mount Carmel Area Athletic Department through permission from the Mount Carmel Area School District will be conducting ceremonies this Friday Night at the Mount Carmel Area vs. Lewisburg Scholastic Football Game on JAZZ Diminick Field located on MCA’s Historic Silverbowl Stadium honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Undefeated Red Tornado Eastern Conference Football Champions. Prior to the game at a tailgate get together behind the Field House, team members and their families will meet and remises. After the coin toss, flag raising ceremonies will be conducted by Patrick and Annie Chuprinski, the son and daughter of the late Robert Chuprinski. Bob “Churp” Chuprinski was Co-Captain of the team and accepted a scholarship to Temple University and was one of 9 players from that team to accepted Division I scholarship to play collegiate football. Bob passed away in 2013, while living in Butte, MT with his wife Diane and children. His children have made the trip from across the country to pay tribute to their father and the team he played for.
