MOUNT CARMEL — As the program with the most wins in the history of Pennsylvania high school football, Mount Carmel is a proud program. And on Saturday night, the 2021 edition of the Red Tornadoes set themselves apart in that program's rich history and legacy.

With 317 rushing yards — which may have seemed rather pedestrian compared to last week's 554 against Bloomsburg in the district quarterfinal, or the 539 on the ground against Loyalsock earlier this year — Mount Carmel broke the school record for rushing yards in a single season, previously held by the 1998 team with 4,067 yards.
