Shamokin scrimmage

Shamokin freshman quarterback Brett Nye prepares to throw to the corner of the end zone during a scrimmage last season at Kemp Memorial Stadium.

COAL TOWNSHIP — Growing up playing football since he was about 4-years-old, Brett Nye has always been putting his team first.

A team-oriented player who is now a natural leader for the Indians, despite being a sophomore, he didn’t worry about his position at first. But once he was given the opportunity at the quarterback position, he hasn’t looked at any other role on the offensive side of the ball.
