Southern Columbia defeats Loyalsock

Southern Columbia’s Gavin Garcia cuts toward the inside on a run in the second quarter of a high school football game against Loyalsock Thursday, Oct. 1, at Tiger Stadium.

HUGHESVILLE — Southern Columbia will go for its 52nd consecutive win and 85th consecutive regular season tonight when the Tigers (3-0) head to Hughesville for a Heartland Athletic Conference Division III game.

The Spartans (1-3) are coming off a 54-7 loss to Mount Carmel, which, ironically, was to have played Southern earlier this week but canceled the game because of a low number of players due to injuries and lack of recovery time.
