CATAWISSA — When Southern Columbia’s graduation takes place this upcoming summer, senior Gavin Garcia may not receive a louder applause from any group more than the one sent over from Mount Carmel. In fact, the Red Tornadoes coaching staff may even be in attendance to make sure that he is indeed graduating and no longer in the backfield wearing a black and gold uniform.

The Tiger star halfback rushed for 219 yards and four touchdowns Friday night as Southern went on to beat their rival, 41-14. It was the fourth time in the last five years that the Tigers beat the Red Tornadoes in the District 4 Class 2A Championship.
