MOUNT CARMEL — If Mount Carmel Area’s girls basketball team can continue playing defense like they did Friday evening at home in a 55-23 victory over divisional opponent Central Columbia, the Red Tornadoes will once again find themselves as a frontrunner in the District 4 playoff field.

The Red Tornadoes, who are looking to win a sixth straight district championship, didn’t allow the Blue Jays to reach double figures in any quarter as they cruised to a convincing PHAC win to sweep the Columbia County opponent in their two regular season matchups.
