Shamokin’s Madison Lippay gets back on defense against Midd-West during a soccer game, Tuesday night.

COAL TOWNSHIP — In a game where both teams played physical from start to finish, Shamokin (8-5-1) girls soccer continued to push for a playoff spot and clipped Midd-West 4-3.

Madison Lippay scored four goals, including the eventual-game winner with 9:29 remaining in the second half against a Mustang defense that found a way to disrupt shot and pass attempts throughout the contest.
