Girls Basketball Line Mountain 51, Juniata 44

MANDATA — The Eagles got a big win on senior night and clipped Juniata girls basketball, 51-44, Saturday.

Line Mountain limited the Tigers to 19 points in the final half, meanwhile the Eagles had 38 during that span.

Kasey Boyer led the Eagles in scoring with a dozen points.

MOUNT CARMEL — Nativity controlled the fourth quarter against the Red Tornadoes and earned a 51-47 win on Saturday in girls basketball action.

MCA had a seven point advantage at the half and DaniRae Renno scored a game-high 21 points and teammate Brooke Bernini had 15.

However, the visitors hit their stride in the final period and outscored Mount Carmel, 18-6, in the second half.

Sami Hernan led Nativity in scoring with 17 points.

Boys Basketball Shamokin 60, Milton 52

MILTON — The Indians rode the wave of a big fourth period and beat Milton boys basketball on Saturday, 60-52.

Shamokin outscored the Black Panthers, 21-14 in the final period and four players posted double-digit scoring performances in the game, including Ian Paul with 14.

Milton was led by Eric Counsil, who had a team-high 13 points.

CATAWISSA RR — Liam Klebon had a game-high 21 points to lead Southern past the Defenders, 60-31, in Saturday boys basketball action.

The Tigers outscored Warrior Run, 39-19, in the second half.

MAHANOY CITY — Lourdes boys basketball dominated the first half of its matchup with the Golden Bears and were victorious on Friday, 62-42.

The Red Raiders outscored Mahanoy, 36-18, in the opening half and Ty Klembara led all scores — finishing the contest with 19 points.
