BLOOMSBURG — DaniRae Renno had 23 points while Brooke Bernini and Lauren Shedleski each had 10 to lead the Red Tornadoes to a 54-42 win over the Panthers.

After building a 16-6 lead after the first quarter, Mount Carmel’s production slowed, allowing the Panthers to come within three points heading into the fourth quarter.

But the Red Tornadoes turned the heat back on, outscoring Bloomsburg 20-11 in the final stanza to secure the victory.

Wrestling North Schuylkill 42, Shamokin 34

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Three forfeits doomed the Indians during Saturday’s dual meet loss to North Schuylkill, 42-34.

The Indians were leading 34-30 entering the final two matches but the Spartans managed first period falls at 220 and 285 pounds to secure the victory.

Shamokin freshman Max Madden pinned Hayden Frasch in just 41 seconds, while Wade Alleman, Brian Long, Wolfgang Pearson and Damon Backes also earned six-point victories.
