JERSEY SHORE — Shamokin baseball scored four times in the first inning and five times in the sixth which guided them towards a 14-3 romp against Jersey Shore, Monday.

Casen Sandri went 3-5 in the contest and drove in a pair of runs for the Indians. Meanwhile, teammate Nathan Miller had four hits and a pair of ribbies in the victory against the Bulldogs.

Mount Carmel 16, Warrior Run 1

TURBOTVILLE — Mount Carmel baseball entered the second inning tied with Warrior Run 1-1. Then, the Red Tornadoes’ offense came to life and put up 15 runs in the next three innings, which led to a 16-1 victory over Warrior Run.

Thomas Schultz and Logan Willis led the way for Mount Carmel, each recording four RBIs and three hits in Monday’s win. Reed Witkoski also made his opportunities at the plate count, tallying three RBIs.

John Ayres recorded his first win on the mound and pitched all four innings for the Tornadoes.

MANDATA — Line Mountain softball toppled East Juniata, Monday, for a 13-2 win.

Kya Matter had two hits and three RBIs and teammate Taylor Leshock went 2-4 with an RBI and a pair of stolen bases for the Eagles.

Pitcher Katie Mace tossed five innings and one earned run and only four hits to go along with four strikeouts in Line Mountain’s winning effort.

Tiana Terry and Ashlynn Searer each had a RBI for EJ in the loss.
