COAL TOWNSHIP — Shamokin Area’s young softball team fell behind early and couldn’t catch up with the pitching of Danville’s Cara Bohner the rest of the game in dropping a 10-0, five-inning Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Division I game Tuesday.

Danville (2-0) struck for seven runs in the first two innings, with the top of its lineup doing major damage, and Bohner, after giving up a first-inning single to Kennedy Petrovich, was masterful the rest of the way. She finished giving up just the one hit, struck out eight and didn’t walk any.
