In terms of popular sports, bowling is not necessarily at the top of the list.

Sure, ESPN does televise national competitions from time to time and bowling alleys provide the opportunity for those in the area to hit the lanes on occasion but, as a sport, bowling has typically taken a backseat to other athletics.
