LINE MOUNTAIN — On Saturday, Hughesville broke a 1-1 tie courtesy of a Gillian Way unassisted goal with 20:19 remaining. Morgan Hopkins scored twice on the Eagles defense and Leah Heterman recorded nine saves. Tawney Rebuck had 15 saves for Line Mountain.

CENTRAL COLUMBIA — Southern shut out the Blue Jays behind two goals by junior Maddie Wilcox. Meghan Longenhagen and Hanna Davis each had an assist. The Tigers had 11 shots on goal, meanwhile Central had four. Southern also led the matchup in corner kicks, 19-4.

Hazelton at Line Mountain was postponed to Monday, Sept. 24. Cross Country Lebanon Valley College’s Dutchman Invite
On Saturday, Southern girls cross country finished eighth out of 15 during LBV’s Dutchman Invite. Hayley Scopelliti was the first finisher for the Tigers and finished 18th out of 140 participants. Scopelliti posted a time of 18:47. Southern boys cross country was ninth out of 16 teams as Ethan Knoebel was its first finisher. Knoebel was second place out of 155 runners as he posted a time of 16:36.
Schuylkill Haven Invitational
Shamokin varsity boys cross country finished in second place at the Schuylkill Haven Invitational on Saturday, The club recorded 77 points as Clif Zheng had a time of 18:08, which put him fourth in the contest.
The Indians varsity girls squad finished fourth out of eight teams and posted 99 points on the day. Jessa Packoski had a time of 24:08 and finished in 10th place.
