In The Pits: Jeg Couhlin Jr.

Jeg Coughlin Jr. scored his 65th career NHRA Mello Yello Pro Stock victory last Sunday, defeating his nephew Troy Coughlin Jr. at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. Coughlin, a five-time Pro Stock World Champion, is shown in action from last year’s Dodge Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading.

Following last Friday’s torrential thunderstorms, Big Diamond and Williams Grove Speedways have rescheduled their Andy Fayash and Billy Kimmel Memorials, respectively, for this evening.

The Schuylkill County oval has a full slate on tap tonight for the Fayash Memorial, which will also be a “Pink Out” night, asking fans to wear something pink to show support for people battling cancer. The Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, Open Sportsman, Roadrunners and Street Stocks will be in action. Only 26 points separate the top three Modified drivers in the points, with Jeff Strunk holding the top spot over Mike Gular and Craig Von Dohren. Andy Fayash was a longtime racer at Big Diamond in the roadrunners and sportsman cars, and lost his life a few years ago while working on his race car in the garage.
