USAC East Coast Wingless Sprint Car Series drivers, Joey Biasi (b1) and Bill Unglert (33) battle in last month’s visit to Big Diamond Speedway. The Series returns to the Schuylkill County oval for action tonight.

The USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series returns for their third visit of the season at Minersville’s Big Diamond Speedway, joining the 358 Modifieds, sportsman and roadrunners on Jeep Night.

Along with tonight’s racing action, all Jeep owners will be permitted to parade around the Schuylkill oval during the intermission session.

Timmy Buckwalter was victorious in last month’s visit by the wingless warriors, but can expect stiff competition tonight from many others including Eddie Strada Jr., Joey Biasi, Greg Leiby, Bill Unglert, Dominic Buffalino and Ryan Godown. Gates open at 5 pm., and racing is to start at 7:45.

The rained-out Mitch Smith Memorial during the PA 410 Sprint Car Speedweeks of two weeks ago will now be presented tonight at Williams Grove Speedway along with the 358 sprint car series, with a 7:30 starting time.

The 31st annual event honors the memory of Mitch Smith and this version, which will pay a whopping $8,080.80 to the winner of tonight’s feature, will also serve as a tune-up for the teams for next week’s NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Summer Nationals, July 26-27.

Just a reminder to all fans, wherever you may choose to travel this weekend, check with your track of choice as to their starting times and if they are racing. Due to the projected heat issues, Maple Grove Raceway and Bridgeport (NJ) Speedway have already cancelled their events for the weekend, while others have adjusted their starting times.

Clinton County Speedway hosts the ULMS late model series along with 305 sprint cars, pro stocks and 270 micro sprints, tonight at 7:30….tomorrow night action finds Port Royal Speedway hosting a Camera and Autograph Night for the fans during pre-race activities along with honoring all Military personnel, active or retired, with proper ID. The 410 sprint cars, Grit House/Route 35 Late Model Challenge and 305 sprint cars in action, with an adjusted starting time of 8 p.m.…..Lincoln Speedway also pushed back their starting time to 8 p.m. and will present a three division show on Pepsi Night for the 410 sprint cars, 358 sprint cars and Central PA Legends….The URC Sprint Car Series joins the NASCAR Modifieds and sportsman at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night with a 7:30 starting time….The Pro four cylinders take the headlines at Mahoning Valley Speedway with a special 40-lap main event, along with the Modifieds, late models, street stocks, sportsman mods and hobby stocks, starting at 6 p.m.….Selinsgrove and Baps Motor Speedways will be off tomorrow, returning to action next weekend….Woodhull Raceway hosts a “Christmas in July” for the kids, with bikes and helmets giveaways. Racing action at the New York oval finds the Modifieds, crate sportsman, crate late models, street stocks, hobby stocks, mini stocks, four cylinders and warriors taking it to the high banks….Five Mile Point Speedway hosts a five division show at 7 p.m., featuring the Modifieds, crate sportsman, factory stocks, four cylinder front wheel drives and 600cc mods, starting at 7 p.m..

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series returns to action this weekend for the 14th of 24 events on the 2019 schedule, rolling into Colorado this weekend for the 40th Annual Dodge Mile High Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Bandimere Speedway.

Fox Sports1 will provide plenty of coverage with 90 minutes of qualifying action tonight at 7; one hour of qualifying action tomorrow at 10 p.m. and three hours of live eliminations action, beginning at 3 p.m., Sunday afternoon.

2018 winners were Leah Pritchett in Top Fuel, John Force (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Hector Arana Jr. (P/S Bike).
