A couple of unsolicited thoughts on today’s plight, recent television recaps with more changes to next weekend’s WrestleMania and a little nostalgia are part of what we have on tap this week as the Insider barely kicked out at two and three quarters to get this column your way.
Drifting in uncharted waters, which we all seem to be doing, can be exceedingly challenging and sometimes downright scary. The unknown and the uncertainty are perhaps the most unnerving. It is a very strange dynamic right now because while the whole world is being affected by a pandemic, the degree to which we are varies considerably. It is very weird to not be able to go to church or work or the playground, yet a trip to the grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store or other “essential businesses” seems, except for the sanitizing measures, pretty much like business as usual. However, things are changing so rapidly that those of us who have been fortunate thus far in good old Northumberland County, mostly just tolerably inconvenienced, wonder if or when that may change drastically. It probably means we all should continue to do what we can with respect to “best practices” and pray for the best about the things we cannot control.
