With Roman Reigns pulled from his main event against Brock Lesnar due to a positive Covid test just hours before the scheduled start of WWE’s New Year’s evening Day 1 pay-per-view, it was obvious Vince McMahon would have to come up with something big to offset the impending fan disappointment that no promoter would want on his resume for the start of a brand new year.

So, Brock Lesnar, reunited with Paul Heyman, was added to the fatal four-way for the WWE title where he summarily pinned champion Big E after an F-5 in a fast-paced, high-impact bout to capture the WWE heavyweight title in a match cleverly booked to set up a future title feud with the Almighty Bobby Lashley.
