Shamokin versus Mahanoy softball

Shamokin’s Mackenzie Glosek high-fives head coach Rick Kashner after hitting a solo home run against Mahanoy in the fourth inning of a softball game at Eddie M. Griffiths II Memorial Field in Coal Township in 2019.

COAL TOWNSHIP — Shamokin Area softball coach Rick Kashner announced Wednesday that he will be putting in a letter of resignation from his position as head coach.

“I have some family health issues that will require my attention and I don’t feel I would be doing the program justice with not being able to put my sole focus where it needs to be for the girls,” he said.
