A lot of ink has been used in local newspapers to write about Kya Matter over the course of the 2021 softball season, especially in June when the senior was leading Line Mountain to a state championship.

Because of that, there might not be much else to say about the right-handed pitcher that hasn’t already been said. Matter, who was recently named the Class 2A Player of the Year, led her team and the area in just about every major offensive and pitching category, and her final numbers — which are ridiculous — tell the story of how much she played a part in the Eagles’ success this season.
