STATE COLLEGE — It’s hard for a softball team to lose a game if it doesn’t surrender any runs, and Line Mountain has only done that once during the postseason with Kya Matter on the mound and a sound defense backing her up.

During Thursday’s PIAA Class 2A Softball State Championship, Matter hurled a 2-hit gem with 17 strikeouts for the Eagles during their 9-inning 1-0 victory over Ligonier Valley.
