OLOL heads to state finals

The 19th annual Northumberland County all-star games will be played tonight at the Shikellamy high school. The girls all-star game will tip-off at 6:30 p.m. and the boys game will follow.

The senior players from Northumberland County will matchup with a team derived of senior players selected from all other surrounding counties.

Tickets for the game will be $5 and can be bought at the main entrance. All proceeds will go toward the Northumberland County high school scholarship program.

Local players selected to play in the girls game include: Shamokin — Lydia Deptula. Lourdes Regional — Frances Czeponis, Lilly Bickel, and Sierra Coleman. Southern Columbia — Jill Marks, Morgan Cole, Sarah Rodriguez, and Sami Palacz.

Lourdes Regional’s head coach Mike Klembara will coach the Northumberland County all-stars.

On the boys side of things, local players selected include: Shamokin — Colin Bowers, Nafees Love. Lourdes Regional — Thomas Schultz, Jacob Rees, Ty Klembara. Southern Columbia — Damian Ares, Tobias Walden, Jarod Ebersole. Mount Carmel — John Ayres, Donovan James, and Mike Hood.

The boys team will be coached by Lourdes Regional’s head coach James Sandri.

Both games are expected to be fast-paced and full of some very fun action as many of the players selected led their respected schools to some very successful seasons.

Aside from the local players that make up most of the Northumberland County roster, many players from the surrounding counties are also just coming off deep post-season runs.

Expect to watch some great basketball if you are in attendance as these senior members cap off their high school basketball careers.
