Lanny Conner cherished coaching track and field at Southern Columbia.

From the practice preparation to the meet strategies, and most importantly, seeing his athletes excel both on and off the track, he loved every aspect of it. After a fruitful stint of coaching at Bloomsburg University, and turning them into a top program in the PSAC, he took over as the boys coach at SCA in 2000 and held the position until the conclusion of the 2019 campaign, which is when his team finished third in the PIAA Class 2A standings at Shippensburg during state championship weekend.
