BLOOMSBURG — It was good — no great — while it lasted. It was the Bloomsburg University school record of 20 consecutive football seasons with a winning record, each with a minimum of six victories — which is a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference record. As for the overall winning streak, it ranks third behind the 31 by West Chester and 22 for Clarion.

Saturday afternoon on Danny Hale Field at Robert Redman Stadium, the Huskies paid the price for their second consecutive slow start to their season and a 42-35 PSAC Eastern Division loss to first-year conference member Shepherd means they will finish with a losing record. Recovering from their 1-5 start, the Huskies (4-6, 3-4 PSAC) had put together a three-game winning streak to put themselves in position for their second consecutive 6-5 finish.
