FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP — Southern Columbia taught Harrisburg Christian a lesson on Tuesday in the Knights first ever PIAA playoff appearance. The rendition took place at Tiger Stadium in the opening round of the Class 1A matchup and showed that even when Southern isn’t executing the way that they usually do, the Tigers can still win handily, which they did 5-1 to advance to Saturday’s state quarterfinal.

“I think having the experience that the girls had from last year coming into this game showed. It wasn’t the prettiest performance, but at this point a win is a win. The girls gave their full effort and were ready. The ending result is all that matters at this point,” Southern head coach Derek Stine said.
